To qualify, there is no specific length of training or experience required; however, your resume must demonstrate enough experience to show your ability to perform the duties of a Heavy Mobile Equipment Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Examples of such experience include: (1) leading a staff of heavy mobile equipment and automotive mechanics responsible for servicing and repair of a fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment; (2) demonstrating proper work methods to less experienced mechanics; (3) monitoring stock to ensure that necessary materials, equipment and tools are available; (4) prioritizing auto shop recurring and emergency work to ensure work is accomplished in a timely manner; (5) making necessary repairs to fleet equipment such as; diesel powered generators, complex diesel powered heavy construction equipment such as bulldozers, graders, loaders, fire trucks, truck mounted push type snow plows, diesel powered backhoe, oil distributors, truck tractor and interconnected engine systems. AND SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position has a Selective Placement Factor (screen-out) which will be used to determine minimum qualifications for this position. Applicants not possessing this Selective Placement Factor will be found ineligible for this position. The Selective Placement Factor is: A Class A Commercial Driver’s License with an air brakes endorsement.
