Top 20 Punjabi Songs – May 5, 2021

Today’s post is Top 20 Punjabi Songs – May 5, 2021. This week as well, there have been widespread disruptions in the song sequence. Ranjha… by Simar Doraha and Kabbi seat… by Ammy Virk are the newcomers on the list at the eighteenth and nineteenth positions. Kishtan… by Arjan Dhillon has returned into the fray at the twentieth position. Jatt te jawani… by Dilpreet Dhillon and Karan Aujla, Raund… by ManavGeet Gill and Pyar ni karda… by G Khan have been completely thrown out of the list. I have marked the other changes beside each song in the sequence below.

The song, Musafir… by Korala Maan and Gurlez Akhtar, seems to have been inspired by Bollywood movies of yore where the girls had no right to have their own opinion about their marriage. It is not clear whether the hero in the video is a dacoit. But clearly, he belongs to the wrong side of the law. The video begins with the hero being released from a police station, at gunpoint. Then, they visit the marriage pandal of the heroine and forcefully take her away. But, the police are present to stop the act. I was not very impressed by the song or the video because, honestly, there is nothing new in it.
