Your resume must show you have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing support for the software development, integration, architecture/design, documentation, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing software applications. The employee performs a wide variety of functions on a wide range of complex software application issues, provides advice and recommendations on software, interprets and applies best practices as they relate to IM and IT systems. Apply software engineering design and development methodologies. 2. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: collaborate with stakeholders to develop software solutions which provide integrated information management and information technology capabilities to meet specified warfighter and business requirements, collaborate with end-users to obtain feedback on the user experience. 3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Communicate effectively with management, peers, subordinates, and customers through the use of briefings, written reports, and verbal communications. 4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: ability to define the problem, determine the cause of the problem, and develop a detail plan of action for resolution, works across the organization to find resolutions to problems and issues in order to mitigate duplication of efforts, interpret and apply DoD and industry best practices, policies, and guidelines for software development, conducts analysis of alternatives.
