In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Monitors networks, systems and applications to ensure attacks are detected and prevented in support of network security. 2. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Interprets security regulations, policies, principles and protocols to help others protect government content, applications and hardware. 3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provides information updates to the chain of command on the development and implementation of network security. 4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Performs analysis of compromised systems to include identification of malicious code, methods of compromise and data extraction techniques. In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning service operational requirements related to IT services (measuring effectiveness/efficiency and productivity of equipment, projects and programs operations); 2) Recommending resolution of complex IT issues affecting program operations by distinguishing between hardware, software, network, and user-related problems; 3) Applying analytical IT processes to the planning and implementation of new/improved information systems to support command objectives; and 4) Installing, maintaining and documenting the physical configuration of an information system (software/hardware, control current versions and future releases of applications software).
