Dr. Sunil Mehra’s (Manoj Kumar) flight lands in some wilderness because of a medical emergency. He goes about looking for a hospital and is caught by dacoits to be tortured. In the next shot, Phulwa (Mala Sinha) is seen singing this song, the next morning.

The song, Oonche Himalay ke neeche, was penned by Anand Bakshi and the music was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.

The song goes thus, “How long will my dreams lay dormant below the Himalayas and behind the Chinar trees, with their eyes closed?”

The cinematography is by Praveen Bhatt. Dance choreography is by Satyanarayan.

The video opens with some girls swaying to the music and walking in a straight line. Nearby Mala Sinha is also swaying and walking toward the camera. All of them have a water pot each. Mala Sinha begins to sing and dance to the tune of the song.

The other girls also join Mala Sinha in the song and dance sequence. The scenery of the wilderness is picturesque. The song peters out and the video also ends as the group leaves the place, in a linear sequence as they had come.

Artists

Lata Mangeshkar has sung this song for Mala Sinha. Some other actors are also seen in the video.

Cultural Influence

The song has been distinctly influenced by the Pahadi culture. The song and the artists are good. The video is watchable for the same.
