Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience required for this position is: Providing advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range or security, intel, adjudications, and administrative issues Providing a second level review on cases with significant derogatory information, approving/disapproving, and signing Letters of Denials/Letters of Revocations to deny or revoke security clearances and/or assignment to sensitive and non-sensitive duties Evaluating reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and preparing detailed responses Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
1. Communications – Communicate (i.e., written and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals. 2. Leading – Leading a team or function to developing others. Being clear about what has to be achieved; Assembling the necessary resources to meet what has to be done; Monitoring and addressing gaps in staff development and performance; Reviewing this people/work match in the light of setting future objectives and leading change to meet needs. 3. Personnel Security – Applies personnel security principles and methods to process initial clearances, periodic re-investigations, and clearance upgrades/downgrades, and to complete the adjudication and appeals processes. Evaluates internal and external security clearance requests and ensures applicant’s actions are consistent with regulatory requirements. Analyzes and reports on clearance and appeals findings to senior security officials and makes appropriate notifications.
