SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSA qualified candidate’s online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NQ-02/ GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of PMO operations.
Examples of qualifying experience include: Experience utilizing management and organizational procedures to perform a wide variety of analytical studies and projects related to program improvement, productivity improvement, and/or long-range planning of program.
Experience providing program support and guidance to senior officials concerning organizational activities and/or management.
Experience applying pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents affecting the use of program operations. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods, principles, concepts, practices, and techniques as well as qualitative and quantitative methods in order to perform analysis of PMO administrative and business functions.
Ability to produce comprehensive written documents for internal and external audiences, to include (reports, analysis, correspondences, policy guidance, etc.), which persuade or defend recommended solutions or alternative approaches.
Skill to lead, plan, and organize program evaluations and a wide range of management studies pertinent to integration of the PMO associated with the mission of the organization. “Experience” refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
