Qualification Summary
USAMRIID is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DJ-02 payband is equivalent to the GS-05 step 1 to GS-10 step 10 level, however Management has elected to announce at the higher end of the pay band (GS-09, step 1 to the GS-10, step 10). In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent, will not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position. Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system. This is a contingent (TERM) appointment, NTE 3 years. Individuals selected for this term position may be eligible for conversion to career-conditional appointment at a later date. To be converted, the employee must (1) have been selected for the contingent position under competitive procedures, (2) must have served 2 years of substantially continuous service in the contingent appointment, (3) be selected under merit promotion procedures for the permanent position, and (4) have a current rating of “B” or better. This is a TERM position for 3 years and may be extended to maximum of 5 years. MRMC Command is authorized to extend a contingent appointment one additional year. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) preparation, management, and coordination of personnel related actions to include processing actions and position descriptions in an automated personnel system and tracking through to completion AND (2) performing a wide variety of administrative duties to include records management, personnel services, office automation, report preparation and composes correspondence associated with duties. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business administration, operations management, logistics, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics, contract management and procurement. (NOTE: These examples of related curricula are not all-inclusive) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
