Qualification Summary
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following by the closing date of the vacancy announcement:
03/08/2021 Qualifications will be determined under the Job Element Rating System X-118C, Qualifications Standard Handbook. While a specific length of time and experience is not required for most Wage Grade positions, you must show through experience and training that you possess the best qualified level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of this position. Qualification requirements emphasize the quality of experience, not necessarily the length. The responses to the questionnaire and your resume should be in significant detail to provide the person rating your application with a good understanding of your ability to do the job, technical knowledge, work, and training experience, etc. (For example You must have the ability to perform the duties of a, Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision (Screen Out)). Applicants who do not meet the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT will not be given further consideration. Physical Effort:
Works from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms at heights up to 40 feet, and where the surfaces, systems, and equipment worked on may be in cramped or hard-to-reach places. Required to walk, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and generally work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, handles, carries, and sets up materials, parts and/or equipment that may weigh up to 100 lb. Working Conditions:
Works inside and outside of buildings in all types of weather. Work is performed in ducts, chases, tunnels, attic crawl spaces, and sometimes under extremes of temperature. Subject to danger of falling from ladders, scaffolds, and through floor openings, and is subject to cuts, bruises, punctures, burns, shock, dust, dirt, noise, and hazards of falling objects. Subject to irritation of eyes, skin, and respiratory tract from sanding and dusting surfaces. May be exposed to contagious poultry diseases not transmissible to humans. Other Considerations:
– Incumbent must obtain and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
– Incumbent is subject to call-back situations to make emergency repairs.
– Rotating on-call responsibilities in the unlikely event of animal emergency. Must respond on-site within 30 minutes.
