The song, Nashe mein hum, was featured in the Sippy Films’ crime thriller Black Cat (1959), directed by Nisar Ahmad Ansari and produced by G P Sippy. The movie starred Balraj Sahni, Minoo Mumtaz, Nisar Ahmad Ansari, Johnny Walker, etc.
Rajan (Balraj Sahni) is a police officer-in-charge of the case of the notorious criminal Black Cat. The Black Cat is audacious enough to regularly leave his calling card at the scene of the crime and is very confident that he will not be caught. Rajan is in love with Nita (Minoo Mumtaz), the sister of a close family friend Professor Gupta (Nisar Ahmad Ansari).
Rajan’s friend Popat (Johnny Walker) is a detective and assists Rajan from outside the police force. Together with his assistant Bulbul (Shammi), Popat also begins to search for the Black Cat albeit playing safe and not falling prey to the goons. What no one knows is that Professor Gupta is a heart patient by day and the Black Cat by night.
One night, Popat and Bulbul visit a club, disguised. Professor Gupta appears there also disguised as a normal club-goer with a female assistant, Lily (Nilofer). Popat gets suspicious of the man and he with Bulbul follows the man’s movements. The man and the female assistant enter Cabin no. 3 and do not come out for some time. Later, they inform Rajan about the man and his assistant’s movements.
At the same time, Nita watches her brother go out for his nightly activities and tells Rajan about it. Rajan drops Nita at her home and stays back to watch the house. The Professor sows seeds of doubt in his sister’s mind about Rajan and she leaves him to go to her room. One of the Professor’s henchmen is waiting for him outside, whom Popat and Bulbul have been following and he tells Lily to distract Rajan. When she does so, Rajan stealthily gets Popat into her vehicle. But, Lily is clever enough to realize that and throws Popat out of her car. What she doesn’t know is that Bulbul is hiding in the boot in the back of Lily’s vehicle.
Lily goes to the night club and Bulbul gets out of the boot to find Popat arriving in a cab. He changes his disguise and they enter the club. Popat tells Bulbul to edge toward Cabin no. 3. and joins in the performance of this song at this point in the movie to distract others.

The video opens with Lillian coming from the back of the stage and beginning to dance. Johnny Walker stumbles along in the audience area as if woozy to join Lillian on stage. On the way, he picks up empty wine glasses from different tables. He also begins to sing this song.
Lillian also joins Johnny Walker in this song. Shammi follows the instructions of Johnny Walker and edges toward Cabin no. 3. The song rises to a crescendo and the video ends as Lillian goes to the back of the stage and Johnny Walker also goes toward Shammi.
Mohammad Rafi and Suman Kalyanpur have sung this song for Johnny Walker and Lillian. Shammi and others are also seen in the video.
There is some influence of the Spanish culture on this song. Lillian’s dress and dance choreography have been inspired by Flamenco dance form to some extent. The song and the artists are good. The video is watchable for the same.
