To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to knowledge of the full range of police and law enforcement services including state, county and Federal laws, regulations, methods and procedures that apply to the facilities depending upon their geographical location and type of jurisdiction: OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond. Applicants are subject to the provisions of the LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT to the Gun Control Act of 1968, which prohibits persons who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to be appointed to positions in Federal Law Enforcement, including Department of Veterans Affairs Police. Applicants must be able to possess firearms under the terms of the Gun Control Act of 1968, as amended (18 U.S.C. 922 (G) (9). There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
