Basic Requirements GS-0190: You must meet A, B or C below:
A. I have a Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university in cultural anthropology.
B. I have a combination of education and experience–courses equivalent to a major, or a combination of courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in cultural anthropology, or related course work, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
C. I have 4 years of appropriate experience in cultural anthropology performing research, museum work, or similar professional-level work. NOTE: This experience must be clearly documented in your resume to be creditable. OR Basic Requirements GS-0480: You must meet A, B or C below
A. I have a Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university in Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
B. I have a combination of education and experience–Courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
C. I have 4 years of experience that demonstrated that I have acquired knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4-year course of study as described in A above. NOTE: This is experience must be clearly documented in your resume to be creditable. AND Minimum Qualifications: In Addition to the Basic Requirement(s) above, you must have the following:
I have 1 year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-13 grade level in Federal service that demonstrates I have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to plan, direct, and administer a complex natural resource program. Specialized experience must have involved the following types of duties:
1) serving as a land management/conservation organization representative in negotiating with diverse individuals or groups;
2) exercising direct responsibility for implementing policies, plans, standards or procedures to carry out fish and wildlife conservation;
3) managing issues or conflicts involved in the planning, directing, or executing of short and long term activities in a subsistence program that affect a diverse group of customers;
4) supervising or leading a branch, field station or team focused on the conservation of natural resources.
NOTE: To qualify, your resume must contain sufficient detailed information to prove you have one full year performing the types of specialized experience described above. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
