Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to basic requirements you must have:one year of specialized experience at the NH-03 (GS-13 or equivalent) level in the Federal Service which includes work that involves: (1) developing baseline cost estimates for the complex designs of the PM?s system; (2) developing and reviewing funding requirements for budget input (i.e. cost analysis and estimation, life cycle cost estimates, business case analyses/cost benefit analyses, etc.); (3) applying operations research concepts, principles, and practices related to the mission, objectives, purpose, configuration, characteristics, and program parameters to identify cost factors and relationships; (4) analyzing and synthesizing data to develop solutions through the application of analytical techniques; and (5) managing and/or directing various functional areas of cost estimating, economic analysis, cost validation, portfolio analysis, operational effectiveness modeling, modeling, simulation, analysis and evaluation for assigned program(s). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
