You qualify for the GS-06 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Classifying and coding financial transactions such as payment vouchers; Preparing and reviewing financial documents to verify accounting data and necessary entries; Validating, monitoring, controlling and maintaining accounting transactions and accounting records using a variety of procedures; Researching discrepancies between ledgers and making adjustments; and Reconciling detailed listings of outstanding transactions to general ledger control accounts. Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
