To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Managing and monitoring administrative and logistical requirements of the day to day operations of an office; Handling budget requirements and management of funds; Knowledge and understanding of general budget requirements and obligation and tracking functions to assist the office with management of funds. Entering and extracting data from databases to analyze and prepare reports; Using outlook and word processing software; This includes the ability to perform a substantial range of functions within each software package including the ability to use advanced functions to create specialized reports, brochures, tracking spreadsheets and manage and update databases as required. Receiving visitors and telephone calls concerning such items as scheduling, data reporting, and referrals; coordinating events and meetings. Preferred Experience: Knowledge of Readjustment Counseling Service and VA to determine eligibility and maintain proper agency interactions. There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
