GS-12: To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level performing at least 5 of the following: 1. Administering the policies and procedures of detention centers; 2. Recommending standards, policies, procedures, and programs in the area of detention/corrections or rehabilitation; 3. Representing an agency during conferences, meetings and/or hearings; 4. Maintaining liaison with external agencies to promote and enhance the understanding of detention/corrections or rehabilitation programs; 5. Serving as an approving official for contracts; 6. Assisting in moving inmates throughout the region; 7. Serving as a lead or supervisor within a detention/correctional or rehabilitation facility; and 8. Overseeing and advising management on budgetary issues for detention/correctional or rehabilitation facilities. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.
