Today’s second post is Bollywoody Sea. The sea is a part of our environment and has several secrets like the Bermuda Triangle. Even away from the Bermuda Triangle, in the deeper recesses of the ocean; there are several mysteries that are yet to be unraveled.
If the water of the ocean dries up, some portion of the atmosphere will take its place and the air will get thinner. The whole world will become colder than it is. People living at a level higher than the sea would find it difficult to breathe.
There is another possibility – the Green House Effect, which is currently happening in certain places. The ice in the polar regions and big mountains will melt and the water formed as a result flows to the sea. This will increase the sea level and the coastal areas will be submerged. Here’s hoping that the above does not happen.
The oceans are a force to be reckoned with. They need to be respected for being the source of the rains that give us abundant food crops. They are also the reason for the survival of animals and human beings. So, calling the sea by any name, may it be Darya, Samandar or Sagar, its alluring quality is the same. Here are some of my favorite Bollywood songs, depicting the large body of water.
Daryacha Raja Deva ho Deva… Do Jasoos (1975)
Samundar samundar yahanse wahan tak… Barood (1976)
Dariya kinare ek banglo go pori… Sabse Bada Rupaiya (1976)
Darya mein jahaj chale paacha… Shaan (1980)
Samunder mein nahake… Pukar (1983)
Sagar kinare… Sagar (1985)
