Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Applicants must meet one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes developing guidance material for contracting personnel; conducting compliance audits on contracts; participating in the development of contract policies; and providing guidance on contracting policies and procedures relative to pre-award and post-award functions. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Contracting/ProcurementOral CommunicationProblem SolvingTechnical CompetenceWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Basic Education Requirement for the 1102 series: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degree. OR Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current DoD employee, in any occupational series, who has served on or before September 30, 2000, as follows: (1) Served as a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT in any Federal agency, OR (2) Served as a military member in a comparable military occupational specialty; OR (B) you are a current member of the armed forces who occupied a position within an occupational specialty similar to the GS-1102 series on or before September 30, 2000. AND In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position at the GS-11 or GS-12 grade level you must also meet the qualification requirements listed above.
