Today’s third post is Geeta Dutt Sings for Waheeda Rahman. Geeta Dutt’s voice has been touted as having Asha Bhonsle’s naughtiness and Lata Mangeshkar’s melody. When Geeta Dutt sang for any actor, the result was astounding. Waheeda Rahman is not an exception to the rule. Despite the fact that they had personal issues between them, the singer gave her voice to the actor. The rest is history.
Geeta Dutt Sings for Waheeda Rahman
Jata kahan hai deewane… CID (!956). This song picturized on Waheeda Rehman was removed from the final movie by the censor board because of the supposed ‘vulgar lines’ in the beginning of the song. I wonder what would they have done with the songs of today.
Kahinpe nigahen kahinpe nishana… CID (1956)
Jane kya maine kahi jane kya tumne suni… Pyasaa (1957)
Kaisa jadoo Balam tumne dara… 12 O’ Clock (1958)
Rim jhimke tarane leke aayi barsaat… Kala Bazaar (1960)
