Qualification Summary
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-08 LEVEL: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations relevant to filing, items claimed, payment, penalties, interest, and/or other related items; Ability to interpret and comprehend the contents of case files sufficient to determine interrelationship of information and propose necessary actions/adjustments; and Working knowledge of the relevant systems, transaction codes, procedures, actions, reports, etc., necessary to carry out the duties of this position. Examples may include: Performing case analysis on pre-classified returns and unresolved responses such as those involving unagreed/complex IRP issues referred from other areas; Corresponding with taxpayers to obtain information, explain liability, and encourage compliance; Performing necessary research using the appropriate systems; Performing necessary computations, adjustments, reconstructions, etc.; Initiating special handling notices to provide instructions for the full range of corrections to taxpayer accounts; and Processing carryback/carryforward cases that may involve restricted interest and multiple year adjustments.-The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.-To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following, if applicable:You must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks (time-in-grade requirement).
