Today’s third post is Antakshari with Kumar Sanu. This is a continuation of the previous post – Antakshari with Kavita Krishnamurthy. I met Kumar Sanu during the 1990s for the first time. That morning, the newspapers were filled with the news of the income tax department raiding his house. I had been requested by his manager to meet him at the Sunny Studios, Juhu, Mumbai. Kumar Sanu was recording with the music composer duo Anand-Milind at that time.
The first thing he told me when he came down and I introduced myself to him was that he wouldn’t tell me anything about the raid. Being a newbie in the field of journalism, I had decided from the beginning that I would not ask him too personal questions and reassured him that I would not be asking him any such question.
During the interview that took place inside his large car, he was called back upstairs by Milind saying that a particular note had not been recorded properly. The singer was a trifle irritated. But, he went back to attend to his duty and returned to complete our interview. Let’s go to the Antakshari with Kumar Sanu.
