Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service.This specialized experience MUST have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include but are not limited to: Communicating effectively orally and in writing specifically grant writing and/or management of federally funded programs and knowledge of proper accounting procedures within the federal government.
Knowledge of administrative regulations, state/federal regulations, policies and procedures regarding veteran’s employment rights and benefits.
Experience developing, reviewing, and analyzing financial and program performance data for compliance with laws, regulations and guidance.
Experience determining effectiveness of program design, monitor program and financial performance, determine causes of identified issues, and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, VETS policies, and grant awards.
Knowledge and experience using investigative principles, processes, and methods to analyze and evaluate data and draw conclusions.
Providing advice, guidance, and technical assistance to members of the military; veterans and their family members; veteran service organizations; and employers regarding veteran benefits, employment issues, programs and initiatives. Supervisory Qualification Requirements: Candidates must possess or have the potential to develop the following (please describe in you resume): Ability to motivate, train, and work effectively with subordinates who have a variety of backgrounds and training.
Ability to accomplish the quality and quantity of work expected within set limits of cost and time.
Ability to plan own work and carry out assignments effectively.
Ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to the work.
Ability to understand and further management goals as these effect day-to-day work operations.
