This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION performing the following Rigger duties: using established rigging practices, laying out, selecting, assembling, repairing, and installing weight handling gear and various standing and running rigging onto heavy loads for movement by crane or other mobile material handling equipment, maneuvering around obstructions; signaling crane operators, using standard hand signals to assist with lifting operations; performing routine lifting using equipment including shackles, chain falls, turnbuckles, wire rope clips, thimbles, hooks, beam clamps, slings, tackle blocks, chaffing gear or rollers to rig objects through confined spaces; repairing standard standing and running rigging; figuring measurements, volumes, weight of materials and angles of tension using a general knowledge of mathematics; reading blueprints and sketches and following written and oral instructions in the prescribed sequence. This position has a screen-out factor that will be used to screen-out ineligible candidates. The screen-out factor is: You must be willing and able to perform the required work of the position aloft at heights in excess of 150 feet.
