This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including controlling and monitoring liquid fuels movements; operating fuel distribution systems (FDS) by use of remote switches and valves, portable and stationary pumps, and accessory equipment to load, off-load, and transfer fuel and petroleum products; aligning pipelines, valves, and switches; monitoring levels and pressures during transfer; taking corrective actions; making adjustments to pumps, valves, couples and uncouples hoses and takes other safety precautions; using specialized liquid fuel testing equipment and conducts tests for contamination and additives; recording gauge readings; determining water content in fuel; taking samples for testing; complying with laws and regulations for governing the receipt/issue of fuel; performing preventive and breakdown maintenance of fuel distribution systems (FDS); operating automated Management Systems (DFAMS) for fuel inventory, accounting and reconciliation. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
