Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-13: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing as part of a team financial or economic analyses to identify sources of risk in a financial institution, or assisting in the analysis of and compliance with regulations governing financial markets. CG-14: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing independently or as a team lead financial or economic analyses to identify sources of risk associated with complex investment products, sensitivity to market risk, and liquidity and funding in a financial institution environment; or, assisting in the development of regulations governing complex investment products, sensitivity to market risk, and liquidity and funding activities.
