Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service which includes:1.) Performing chemical analysis to include preparation in a laboratory setting following published procedures or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 2.) Performing required analytical method Quality Control (QC); and 3.) Accurately documenting records related to assigned laboratory procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). GS-8 Requirement
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the federal service which includes:1.) Analysis to include preparation of a variety of environmental and occupational health sample matrices following published methods or Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) 2.) Evaluating analytical method Quality Control (QC); and 3.) Reviewing data to include reporting results with any required data qualifiers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
