Qualification Summary
In order to qualify for the GS-10, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Consulting with authorized personnel and/or faculty on metalworking and machining technologies, processes, materials, and fabrication techniques; 2) Operating conventional and computer numerical controlled (CNC) vertical milling machines and lathes, and/or other advanced machines; 3) Providing guidance on proper techniques for developing models in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to enhance manufacturability and promote good design practice; and 4) Observing tests of models to determine if any defects results from or can be corrected by methods of fabrication or assembly. In order to qualify for the GS-09, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using shop mathematics to calculate the sizes and dimensional relationships of parts; 2) Performing technical reviews of proposed designs; and 3) Participating in model testing and making suggestions to modify designs or make modifications to achieve desired test results; and 4) Developing solutions and approaches to a wide range of engineering design problems and error resolution.
