Qualification Summary
In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-6 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience are: Provided support and assistance processing a wide variety of requisitions; Processed incoming and outgoing mail; Established and maintained the files of the Unit in accordance with Federal regulations and agency directives, accounted for property inventories, records, etc. (hard copy and/or electronic format); Used automated software to produce reports, correspondence and other written documents in draft form. For the GS-7 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience are: Produced a wide range of documents requiring the use of advanced software functions to enhance productivity or meet Unit needs; Provided administrative support to staff, developed correspondence, spreadsheets, and reports, and screened incoming correspondence to determine proper action and response based upon knowledge of organization and staff duties; Suggested ways of improving administrative and clerical office procedures and processes; Advised personnel of changes in administrative regulations and work processes related to a wide variety of administrative processes (i.e. travel, time and attendance records, procurement requests and payments); Trained administrative staff and guided them through appropriate office procedures and personnel regulations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
