Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes proven proficiency and supportable (as evidenced in the resume) hands-on experience in ALL of the following: – Developing plans to safeguard IT system data against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs; AND – Reviewing violations of computer security procedures and protective measures, providing reports as required and making recommendations for appropriate corrective actions; AND – Coordinating implementation of computer security technical solutions and/or corrective actions with system stakeholders; AND – Performing research of IT security threat environments, technologies and solutions and presenting consolidated analyses with associated weaknesses, recommended actions and plans for implementation to senior managers. AND All IT positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. – Attention to Detail, such as reviewing and assisting with security audit assessment requirements. – Customer Service, such as working with customers to ensure security requirements are addressed. – Oral Communications, such as furnishing technical assistance and advice to co-workers and customers. – Problem Solving, such as recommending solutions to IT security concerns during system design and/or testing. For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes proven proficiency and supportable (as evidenced in the resume) hands-on experience in ALL of the following: – Reviewing and/or approving IT system access requests and/or processes to ensure IT security access requirements such as clearance, need-to-know and minimum training are accomplished before access is granted; AND – Experience with computer systems and operations, especially security technology and processes; AND – Monitoring current reports of IT threats and vulnerabilities to determine risks, criticality and potential impact on IT systems; AND – Performing risk assessments and executing tests of IT systems to ensure correct functioning of IT system processes and security measures. AND All IT positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. – Attention to Detail, such as monitoring system performance, providing workload forecasts, and making recommendations regarding the need for system upgrade, augmentation, or replacement. – Customer Service, such as coordinating and developing project plans and procedures for new implementations for customers. – Oral Communication, such as providing technical and security advice and assistance to other IT Specialists. – Problem Solving, such as recommending or implementing corrective actions to restore services.
