BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the federal wage system job grading standards. No specific length of experience is required. Applicants will be rated on the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Applicants who clearly fail to meet the lowest acceptable requirements in the screen-out element can be rated ineligible without further review of their applications since this element measures the critical ability needed to successfully perform the duties of the job. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: WG-10: Experience in complex industrial/commercial process operations or power plant operations, including performing set-ups and adjustments required to produce results conforming to design specifications. Document log-taking and interpretation of logged values for the purpose of conducting trend analysis, and determining compliance to specifications or determining overall operational efficiency of the process or system. Understand and troubleshoot electronics/controls systems and determine suitable repair parts meeting system design specifications or mechanical experience in tear-down, cleaning, and inspection of operating parts for wear/damage, and making recommendations for and/or performing change-out of these parts. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
