Qualification Summary
At the GS-5 level, you must meet one of the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes, but is not limited to: scanning documents into eOPF; extracting data in an automated personnelpayroll system; processing routine personnel actions; and answering routine HR related inquiries. OR
B. A BA/BS degree in any field or four years of education above the high school level. The education was obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college or university. (NOTE: Applicants who select this response must provide legible transcripts as verification of their education). OR
C. A combination of specialized experience as described in A above and 90 semester hours or more (or 135 quarter hours or more) of education above the high school level. (NOTE: Applicants who select this response must provide legible transcripts as verification of their education). Specialized Experience for the GS-06:
Applicants for the GS-06 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to: processing routine personnel and payroll actions, establishing vacancy announcement files and answering routine HR related inquiries. Specialized Experience for the GS-07 :
Applicants for the GS-07 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to: processing a variety of personnel actions, assisting in the preparation and issuance of vacancy announcements, answering customers’ questions related to recruitment and providing information to others on a variety of HR topics. Specialized Experience for the GS-08:
Applicants for the GS-08 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to: processing complex personnel actions and resolving errors of incorrect data, generating vacancy announcements, resolving customer problems regarding pay, determining basic qualifications and interpreting and applying HR regulations and policies. ***Specialized Experience must be clearly demonstrated in your resume.*** Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). A written test is not required. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
