Qualification Summary
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-07, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes assisting in conducting research and compiling data from multiple sources. Examples of this experience could include: – Collecting and researching data; OR – Assisting in the coordination of reports to make sure they meet timely distribution. OR One full year of graduate level education (attach a copy of your transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit). OR Superior Academic Achievement based on a bachelor’s degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class); grade point average (2.95/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in major), or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-09, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes assisting in conducting research, compiling data from multiple sources and analyzing information, and presenting data in multiple formats. Examples of this experience could include:-Collecting and researching data for evaluations of programs/operations; OR -Reviewing, analyzing, and providing information from multiple systems; OR -Researching laws, regulations, guidelines, and approved procedures to provide findings. OR A Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or a LLB or JD, in a related field. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be combined with experience. For the GS-11, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes conducting research, compiling data from multiple sources and analyzing information in order to accomplish assignments, and presenting data in multiple formats and making recommendations. Examples of this experience could include:- Conducting studies of program/project/organizational efficiency and productivity that results in changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods, and procedures; OR – Preparing written documents (including detailed audit, policy analysis, and/or performance evaluation reports) that provide useful findings to a wide range of audiences ; OR – Using sound research methods to determine the effectiveness of program and project operations in meeting established goals and objectives. OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related OR You may qualify by a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience. Only graduate education in excess of the first 2 years may be combined with experience. Time-in-Grade:In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks.For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks.For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks.Time After Competitive Appointment:Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
