In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Child Development Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Employee must have a valid state driver’s license and have a good driving record. Must possess maturity and sound judgement and like working with children/youth and their parents. Must have knowledge of recreation and leisure program planning concepts, principles and methodology. Must have knowledge of youth activities regulatory requirements, policies and practices. Must meet specific physical requirements, pass a physical examination and have required immunizations. This position requires some heavy exertion (lifting 50 lbs. or more). Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s, First Aid, and CPR certificates. Ability to complete all training modules requirements within specified time frame and satisfactorily complete installation records checks, state and National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Must be able to work outside for extended periods of time. Must have skill in preparing budgets, program evaluations, and facility administration; managing financial and physical resources of teen programs; and effectively organizing and utilizing available resources within the program framework. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and be an effective leader for working group. Skill in supervising and leading a team of individuals composed of professionals, volunteers and parents.
