Qualification Summary
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-06 such as; responding to accidents or emergencies involving injuries and/or illnesses; conducting examinations to obtain patient vital signs, and operating a patient transport vehicle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the feral service(GS-06). Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a New York State Department of Health (NYSDoH) issued Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P)certification.
This position ALSO requires you to possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
