Qualification Summary
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Time in grade: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the higher grade level. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: At the GS-07: Qualifying experience for GS-07 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-05 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience assisting in facilitating local, domestic, and foreign travel; assisting in administering relocation programs; AND maintaining travel management software. OR Education: Successful completion of 1 full year of graduate level education, if related. Related education may include Accounting, Business Administration, and Public Administration. OR Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.): Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. S.A.A. is based on (1) Class Standing – applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class, based on completed courses; or (2) Grade-Point Average – applicants must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (3) Election to membership in a National Honor Society – membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. OR A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above. At the GS-09: Qualifying experience for GS-09 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-07 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience facilitating local, domestic, and foreign travel; administering relocation programs; maintaining travel management software; and performing cost analysis for relocation or travel expenses. OR Education: Successful completion of a master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position. Related degrees may include Accounting, Business Administration, and Public Administration. OR A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
