Qualification Summary
Basic Requirements: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. You may need to send proof of education or of certification to be considered for this position. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Specialized Experience is defined as: developing mathematical, and/or models for evaluation, identification, collection, and analysis of all data used to support projects or programs; selecting the appropriate scientific data collection techniques for program analysis from various sources; conducting background investigations, collecting and reducing scientific data, and displaying data for analysis to draw conclusions. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.
