Haseenonse toh bas Sahab was featured in the Films and Television 62’s romedy Ustadon Ke Ustad (1963) produced and directed by Brij. The movie starred Ashok Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Shakila, Johnny Walker, etc.

Deepak (Pradeep Kumar) is a jobless engineer and earns his living by conning people. Taxi-driver Babu (Johnny Walker) is his friend. Deepak visits a hotel one night to con a new person and encounters Nita (Shakila) and her friends. Their attitude prompts him to sing this song.

The lyrics of Haseenonse toh bas Sahab were penned by Asad Bhopali and the music was set by Ravi.

The man mockingly says “Men should stay away from girls. Neither should we be friends nor entertain enmity with them.”

The video opens with Shakila and her group of girls sitting on a table at the restaurant and turning to each other with attitude. The music begins there. Pradeep Kumar goes to the musicians and begins to sing the song, in front of a mike. Some male actors are gathered around him.

Pradeep Kumar moves around the dining area, entertaining the patrons. The girls leave the table in pairs and individually. Only Shakila remains there and she smiles at him when he gets close. The song ends abruptly and the video ends as he returns to the mike and the crowd applauds.


Mohammad Rafi has sung this song for Pradeep Kumar. Shakila and others look on.

Cultural Influence

There is not much influence of any culture on this typically commercial song. The song and the artists are good. The video is watchable for the same.
