Today’s post is Top 20 Punjabi Songs – May 6, 2020. This week there is no change in the list of the top 20 popular songs. Last week’s first song Miss you.. by Gippy Grewal is still the number one this week. I had talked about that song last week. Today, let’s talk about this week’s second song Baari 2… by Elly Mangat and Shehnaz Gill.
The song is about the nightly date of a committed couple. The girl is waiting for her beloved’s message on the mobile. But, he throws a letter covering a small pebble on the terrace of the girl’s house, in an old-fashioned way. The message makes her happy. It says that he is waiting for her a block away from her house.
When the girl comes to meet him after passing through several obstacles, she is taken away by her brothers. I am not sure if the Punjabi families are so orthodox any more, though there have been cases of honor-killing in these areas, often. Anyways, the song has been picturized well.
