Specialized Experience Requirements:
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the one year of specialized experience requirement – please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-13) of the position to be filled.
For GS-13 level: You must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Required specialized experience includes performing budget related duties including budget formulation, justification, presentation, execution and analysis. Budget formulation involves interpreting and applying broad guidelines, analyzing regulations, new policies and procedures, preparing written directives, allocating funding and briefing officials on budget and program information. Budget execution involves conducting analysis, developing recommendations, and financial accounting of expenditures. Incumbent can independently perform full range of budget formulation and execution and has a demonstrated ability to apply problem-solving techniques, conduct data presentations, perform analysis of problems, make appropriate decisions; respond to congressional inquiries; and transmit and explain instructions to a variety of audiences.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.64.If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
