We have been sharing some motivating words from celebrities in the last week. Here is another one – The State Bus on Corona Crisis. The State Bus as you know is a Pune-based music band. This is what Milind Shegokar had to say:
During this crisis of the Corona pandemic, it’s so difficult for us as a band to sit at home away from the studio and jam rooms. Can you believe that most of our instruments are locked in our academy Music Junction (near DPS Undri)? Luckily, we have our spare old instruments at home to practice with. No shows and the academy is also closed. So, everyone has challenges in these difficult times. But, what gives us hope is that we will be able to contribute to society if we stay at home. This is the most important thing we can do right now. Good days will be back.
Meanwhile, we are practicing at home; uploading individual band members’ solo acts on Instagram and Facebook. As a vocalist, I am using electronic tanpura and tabla for my routine riyaz. Our guitarist, Samuel Joshua is working on riffs for our originals. Drummer Anand Todkar is practicing on his e-kit with pads on. Aditya Kamble, who is our bassist, is relatively new and he is working on our originals too. Milan Meitei, our pianist, is making patches and sending recordings to us. This is an interesting phase for our band. We are trying to be productive as much as we can while being quarantined. So nothing stops, it may get slower for the time being but we need to find ways to keep the rhythm on.
