Qualification Summary
Knowledge required by the positon Must possess working knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures. Knowledge of proper food handling techniques such as the correct sides to serve and remove from. A minimum of six months experience is strongly preferred. Responsibility Works under the supervision of the Waiter Supervisor who grants leave and evaluates performance, initiates disciplinary action and is available to provide guidance and assistance for new or unusual problems. Work is reviewed in terms of customer satisfaction and adherence to established policies and procedures. Physical Effort/Working Conditions Work is primarily performed indoors in a club/bar setting with adequate air conditioning, heating, and lighting. Occasionally, work may be performed outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather conditions. This positon is subject to prolonged standing, walking, talking, bending, reaching, stooping and lifting of heavy trays or objects weighing less than 45 pounds without assistance. May be exposed to loud music, cigarette smoke, “rough” language, wet, slippery floors, cuts, burns and bruises. Personal Contacts/Purpose Contacts may be with the supervisor, co-workers and other MWR staff, vendors, community contracts, active duty and retired military enlisted and officers, and family members (depending upon the facility and are for the purpose of obtaining and exchanging information, to assist in the planning of activities, and to provide services, activities, events and trips. Special Requirements As a condition of employment, the employee must be able to obtain a Health Card prior to first day of work. Afterwards, must be able to successfully pass a Food Handlers Sanitation course, thereafter to be updated and maintained annually. Additionally, the employee must successfully complete an annual CARE/TIPS training course. A valid driver’s license is strongly preferred, as travel to and from club facilities may be required in the performance of duties. This position is subject to an irregular tour, which includes nights, weekends and/or holiday work to cover all operational hours and special events. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
