TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
To qualify for this position at the GS-6 grade level, you must have: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped the you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position at the developmental level, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-5). Specialized experience includes: performs accounting, budget, and financial management procedures; maintains and reconciles accounts; creates and analyzes data and reports; answers a multi-line phone; interacts with internal and external customers; type’s correspondence; enters data into databases; schedule’s conferences; manages the timekeeping for a department or service; manages the facility by requesting work be completed by other responsible departments; utilizes various office automation software; maintains and operates office equipment including a copier, fax machine, and scanner; and has worked in an office environment that incurs frequent interruptions.
