In addition to the basic education requirements, applicants must meet the below additional specialized experience requirements:To qualify for the GS-15:Specialized experience is defined as at least 5 years of relevant clinical experience, professional experience in conducting clinical medical programs, and the ability to communicate effectively, including making oral presentations, teaching and publishing, and knowledge of contract procedures.Specialized experience includes the following certifications: Active and unrestricted Texas Medical Board license; DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate; American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board certification in a medical specialty; and active ABMS Maintenance of Certification or its osteopathic medicine equivalent.Preferred experience and qualifications include: Residency training and Board Certification in a primary specialty (Emergency Medicine; Family Medicine; Internal Medicine; General Surgery; etc.); Residency or Fellowship training in Aerospace Medicine; Board Certification in Aerospace Medicine; Board Certification in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine; significant operational practice experience in Aerospace Medicine; significant operational experience in Space Medicine operations.
