Qualification Summary
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel Management’s group coverage qualification standards, associated individual occupational requirements (IOR), and individual qualification standards covering white collar occupations in the Federal competitive service can be found here. Time-in-grade (for current and previous federal employees):
GS-07: 52 weeks at the GS-06 level.
GS-08: 52 weeks at the GS-07 level.
GS-09: 52 weeks at the GS-08 level GS-7: Specialized experience is experience that demonstrates basic computer skills; knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Excel. Experience must have been met at the equivalent to the GS-06 or higher.
GS-8: Specialized experience is experience that demonstrates basic computer skills; knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Excel; ability to apply policies, procedures or laws to ensure actions are complying within the parameters of the program/benefit requirements; reviews documents submitted by customer for completeness, correctness and validity; performs reviews of financial statements. Experience must have been met at the equivalent to the GS-07 or higher.
GS-9: Specialized experience that demonstrates basic computer skills; knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Excel; ability to apply policies, procedures or laws to ensure actions are complying within the parameters of the program/benefit requirements; reviews documents submitted by customer for completeness, correctness and validity; performs reviews of financial statements to identify any misrepresentation, fraud or illegal activity; working knowledge of various types of documentation, such as legal documents, to support the delivery of benefits. Experience must have been met at the equivalent to the GS-08 or higher. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
