Qualification Summary
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.Specialized experience:For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experiencefor this position includes: Performing work to provide reasonable assurance that internal controls are designed, implemented, and operating effectively; or to assess risks, estimate, and report on improper payments. Examples of such experience could include: Participating and assisting with the conduct of internal controls reviews and assessments to determine effectiveness and efficiency of operations, specifically compliance with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) A-123, Management’s Responsibility for Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Control and/or the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002; OR Leading the internal control assessment portion of a financial statement or performance audit; OR Applying internal control principles and standards in performing audit follow-up, resolution, and validation activities; OR Conduct of program risk assessments to determine the susceptibility to improper payments in accordance with OMB Circular A-123, Appendix C, Requirements for Payment Integrity Improvement; OR Assisting with estimation of improper payments in accordance with OMB Circular A-123, Appendix C; OR Reporting on improper payments in accordance with OMB Circular A-123, Appendix C; OR Auditing for compliance with OMB Circular A-123, Appendix C. Specialized experience:For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experiencefor this position includes: Performing work to assist in the review of internal controls; to track and report on audit remediation activities; or to assess risks, estimate, and report on improper payments. Examples of such experience could include: Assisting with the conduct of specific phases of internal controls reviews and assessments to determine effectiveness and efficiency of operations, specifically compliance with OMB A-123, Management’s Responsibility for Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Control and/or the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002; OR Assisting with the internal control portion of a financial statement or performance audit; OR Applying internal control principles and standards in support of audit follow-up and remediation activities; OR Assisting with the conduct of program risk assessments to determine the susceptibility to improper payments in accordance with OMB Circular A-123, Appendix C, Requirements for Payment Integrity Improvement; OR Assisting with estimation of improper payments in accordance with OMB Circular A-123, Appendix C ORYou may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows:Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related;ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
