Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience which prepares the incumbent for directing program management functions which demonstrates professional knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and techniques of nuclear propulsion and quality assurance program management functions applicable to the full range of duties which includes reviewing and analyzing supply chain quality performance, overseeing a quality assurance program, conducting quality assurance audits, and coordinating, developing and improving oversight methods, practices and procedures in relation to nuclear propulsion to include serving in a leadership position which provides program oversight to executive management; and experience with developing high performing individuals.

Expert knowledge of leadership and management skills and techniques to successfully manage and lead a team of diverse professionals toward a common goal.
Extensive knowledge of nuclear propulsion regulations, policy, practices, and procedures to effectively develop and promulgate policy and guidance.
Extensive knowledge of quality and manufacturing assurance/management systems and methods, principles and practices applicable to nuclear propulsion to effectively evaluate suppliers’ conformance to contract requirements and to assure that procedures adequately control the quality of the product.
Comprehensive knowledge of technical and administrative requirements for reactor plant operations sufficient to oversee program operations and implement strategies to ensure continued success.
Expert ability to conduct and lead reviews and inspections at nuclear facilities, and negotiate with management officials to accept and implement recommendations.
Comprehensive knowledge of Federal policies in order to represent the organization in high-level meetings and discussions.
Knowledge of safety and radiological safety requirements as they pertain to nuclear laboratories, Shipyards, and Maintenance facilities.”Experience” refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements for consideration.
