Qualification Summary
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: Satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. In Addition to Meeting the Basic Requirements:
For GS-12, Candidates must have had 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level. Specialized Experience: Experience providing clinical psychological services including evaluation, diagnosis, referral, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and specialized treatment modalities for mental health problems of children, adolescents, adults and families. Experience assessing high acuity (crisis) patients regarding level of care dispositions based on direct patient examination. Experience making decisions with consultation whether high acuity(crisis) patients require transfer from an outpatient setting to the Emergency Room, or transfer from the Emergency Room to a higher level of care such as Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitalization. For GS-13, Candidates must have had 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12grade level. Specialized Experience: Experience providing wide range of complex clinical psychological services including evaluation, diagnosis, referral, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and specialized treatment modalities for mental health problems of children, adolescents, adults and families. Serve as consultant for high acuity (crisis) patients regarding level of care dispositions based on direct patient examination or case consultation. Determine whether high acuity (crisis) patients require transfer from an outpatient setting to the Emergency Room, or transfer from the Emergency Room to a higher level of care such as Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitalization. Selective Factor: In addition to the qualification requirements, to be rated basically qualified for the position, applicants must demonstrate possession of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs). Verification of a current, valid, active, unrestricted license in any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States is required when filling all positions for Clinical Psychologist. Public Health Service (PHS) Licensure Policy: Each PHS clinical psychologist must possess and maintain a valid, current, unrestricted licensure or certification in a State. The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. If privileges are not obtained or maintained during employment, the employee will be subject to adverse actions, up to and including removal from Federal service. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
