Movie – Aan Milo Sajna (1970)
The song, Achcha toh hum chalte hain, was featured in the Film Kunj’s social romantic drama Aan Milo Sajna (1970). The movie was directed by Mukul Dutt and Jagdish Kumar and starred Rajesh Khanna, Asha Parekh, Vinod Khanna, Rajinder Nath, Nirupa Roy, etc.
Widow Savitri Choudhury (Nirupa Roy) is wealthy but not healthy. Continuously ill, several people including her playboy and wayward son Anil (Vinod Khanna) wants her to die. Savitri stops his pocket money and he is advised by his assistant to find a good girl to introduce to her as his fiancé. Due to some developments, Deepali (Asha Parekh) comes to his rescue. For Deepali, this is a thrilling experience on which she sets out. Slowly, she realizes that Anil is not what he appears to be and is a very wicked person.
On the other hand, Deepali meets Ajit (Rajesh Khanna) in the village, who is kindness personified. She appears to be impressed by Ajit and so is he. After a few meetings, she realizes that he is the epitome of virtue, as well. She also tells him that she is Varsha and not Deepali and she is not engaged to Anil. Soon, she convinces him to accept her love. In the meantime, Anil is pulling a helpless Varsha into a quagmire of deception and nobody can help her out of it. Ajit tells her that they should meet the situation head-on. Varsha and Ajit start singing this song during one of their dates.

The girl wants to leave. But, the man wants her to stay back for some time more.

The video opens with Rajesh Khanna tightly holding Asha Parekh’s wrist and she trying to jerk it off. They are in a garden and also begin to sing the song. In the next shot, she is seen running to a boat and boarding it. Rajesh Khanna is agitatedly waiting for her since she is late.
Asha Parekh runs to hug him. He is only concerned if someone had seen her coming to meet him. She immediately leaves and returns for another date. 3 men see her and she gets anxious that they have seen her.
The lead pair decide to get married. But, he asks about the opinion of her family. Soon, it is night and they are about to leave the place. But, they turn back and hug each other. The song and the video end abruptly at that point.
Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar sing for Asha Parekh and Rajesh Khanna.
There does not seem to be any cultural influence on this song. The song and the artists are fantastic. The video is watchable for the same.
