Qualification Summary
To qualify for the SV-G Pay Band (equivalent to GS-10/11), you must have one year of experience equivalent to at least the SV-F Pay Band or GS-9 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, which included gathering and analyzing data or environmental conditions in a security operations center environment to identify potential risks/threats to aviation or other modes of transportation; making independent determinations regarding risk assessment information to be provided to the supervisor, manager, or law enforcement for additional action or follow-up; and establishing and/or maintaining work relationships with a variety of staff or stakeholders to ensure effective security operations. Examples of qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Understanding of the notification procedures involved in the preparation of incident response.Ability to monitor security systems in various situations to provide protection to people and property.Ability to detect, schedule, and document the need for staff/emergency responders to move to specific locations.Effectively worked in an emergency call or responsive dispatch center. Knowledge and understanding of work-related safety practices, OSHA, and environmental rules and regulations, particularly in trauma, disaster preparedness and responsiveness.Ability to use a computer and communication devices to perform essential functions of this position.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Note: Applicants who have performed aviation security screening duties at the SV-F Pay Band or higher will receive credit towards this position’s specialized experience requirement. Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.You must meet the qualification requirements for this position no later than the closing date of the vacancy announcement.
