Qualification Summary
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating or administering cyber security program management activities to ensure the integrity of an organization’s IT infrastructure. Examples of specialized experience may include: conducting strategic or tactical planning for cyber security initiatives; drafting or revising cyber security policies or standard operating procedures; determining short or long term cyber security resource needs; ensuring cyber security personnel training or certification requirements are met; drafting reports on cyber security program status or effectiveness. In addition, one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: monitoring all phases of a IT program to identify or correct technical or procedural deficiencies or areas of imbalance.
2. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: working with senior management and customers to determine cyber security training or qualification requirements; advising on cybersecurity policies or procedures.
3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: providing advice or guidance to customers, team members, or management on cyber security programs, training, or requirements.
4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency may include: identifying risks and providing alternatives for possible mitigation to lesson or remove the potential impact of cyber security risks to systems, networks, or data.
